IMSA Central teachers and administrators encourage students to participate in STEM events to accomplish these visions and missions.

Science Fairs
CONSEF’s mission is to increase public awareness in STEM education, and CONSEF believes that students of all ages, backgrounds, and interests can shine in STEM subjects because the core of STEM education is to teach students how to think critically, solve problems, and make connections with the real world. IMSA Central Science teachers and administrators encourage students to participate in STEM events to accomplish these visions and missions.
School Science Fair

IMSA Central organizes an in-school science fair for all students in Grades 4 and up each year in the first or second week of December. Preparing a science fair project and attending the in-school science fair are required. After the judging and caucusing process, the Top 3 in each grade level are nominated to participate in the Central Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair. 20 middle school students (5th – 8th graders) are nominated for the CONSEF Preselection process. Also, three students per grade (4th – 8th graders) are nominated for the regional science fair (CIRSEF). |

CONSEF/STEM EXPO is an in-network STEM event for the Concept Schools, a Chicago-based, non-profit, charter management and consulting organization. |
PLTW Offering Courses

We currently offer a Project Lead The Way (P.L.T.W.) Launch classes. Students do hands-on activities that incorporate critical thinking and collaborative skills to solve real-world problems. The skills students learn through this program can be used in any career field they may choose to pursue.

Elementary & Middle School Robotics
The VEX Robotics Competition provides schools and students with an affordable education-based platform and competition experience that inspires and creates interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. Combining an educational experience with a sports-like atmosphere that also promotes the development of social and teamwork skills in addition to academic STEM skills, the VEX Robotics Competition is an exciting, engaging, and affordable program for all schools and students enjoy.
IMSA Central offers VEX IQ club activity for 3rd – 5th graders and 6th - 8th graders. Club members will participate in 3-5 regional competitions before the state tournament. Please contact the coach for meeting dates and times
Math Competitions
Math Kangaroo: We offer our students in all grades the opportunity to participate in Math Kangaroo, an international math competition where students solve fun, challenging, and creative math problems that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It’s designed to spark a love for mathematics while allowing students to compete with peers worldwide.
Exponentia Prime: We are proud to offer math competitions for grades K-5 called Exponentia Prime Math. They provide an opportunity for students to learn, play, and compete in a fun, collaborative environment.
MathCon/Math Olympics: Our students in grades 4 and up will be compete nationally against other schools, showing off their Math Skills. Top 2 in each grade level advance to the Concept Schools Math Olympics Annual competition.
